#GivingTuesday 2022: TOGETHER WE HEAL
Together we heal.
The Center for Trauma and Embodiment (CFTE) at JRI is rallying our community for #GivingTuesday that takes place on November 29. Please consider joining us to give back.
CFTE is dedicated to creating body-first models of care for survivors of complex trauma.
We recognize that complex trauma is both interpersonal and systemic –– and that quality care models require attention to both dynamics. In the course of developing our programs, we commit to a continuous process of learning through actively engaging in relationships with survivors of complex trauma, practitioners and community leaders from wide-ranging perspectives in order to inform our work and our growth as an organization.
This year, CFTE celebrates our 4th anniversary, and we’re thrilled to announce the following accomplishments:
Celebrated the 20-year anniversary of Trauma Center Trauma-Sensitive Yoga (TCTSY).
Partnered with Children’s Friend and Family Services (CFFS) to deliver TCTSY to transgender, genderqueer, and gender-expansive youth with two wonderful community-based organizations, CFFS’ Drop-in Center, YOUnity, in Gloucester, MA and the North Shore Alliance of Gay, Lesbian, Bisexual, Transgender and Queer Youth(NAGLY) in Salem.
Successfully initiated a new TCTSY training program with Tribal/Native American and Canadian First Nations in South Dakota.
Trauma Informed Weight Lifting (TIWL) partnered with Team USA Weightlifting to highlight the need for trauma stewardship in sport.
Delivered Trauma Informed Weight Lifting to the GRIP Program, a group home for transitional age adolescents, in Lowell, MA.
Conducted four 30-hour Foundations in Trauma Informed Weight Lifting trainings with more than 160 participants from all over the world.
Expanded ReScripted, our trauma-informed theatre-based program, serving 35 youth in four separate programs, adding an intern to the troupe, and enhancing and copyrighting the curriculum.
Every act of generosity counts! #GivingTuesday is an opportunity for people to stand together in unity – to use their individual power of generosity to stay connected and to heal.
This #GivingTuesday, with your help, we can make a powerful difference by supporting direct service initiatives for survivors of trauma through our programming, public classes, and global trainings.
Any donation, big or small, will help us continue to support survivors of trauma globally.
"Complex trauma, the binary, violence, rejection and discrimination, erasure...these are all forces that land in my body as a trans survivor. For myself and in my work with other trans and nonbinary survivors, I need tools that can help tend the wounds of both relational and social injustice trauma. As a model, TCTSY is providing so much of what I need to support whole people in trauma healing.”
